Adding to the list of recent Microsoft RTM's, they have announced that Office 2013 is at RTM, which also includes SharePoint 2013, Exchange 2013, Project 2013, Lync 2013, Visio 2013 and the Office 365 service.
Enterprise customers such as MSDN subscribers will get Office 2013 by the end of October, meaning they can begin deploying it in their environments. The general public will get it in the first quarter of 2013.
For Microsoft, this is one of the most ambitious releases of Office ever done. It spans the whole range of applications, servers and cloud services. It promises to offer a touch friendly design that will work great on Tablets and PCs as well.
Starting October 19th, customers who purchased Office 2010 from local retailers or resellers will receive the new Office free when its available. The preview version of the new Office on Windows RT devices will be on those machines beginning with the Windows 8 launch this October 26th.
